Locking and standard cortical screws are available from 1.5 to 3.5 mm in diameter, to use according to their function and preferred surgical technique.
Self-tapping screw with cross head This is used for small diameter screws to take advantage of the low profile of the head.
Self-tapping screw with hexagonal head. This is used in bigger cortical screws.
Self-tapping screw with hexagonal head. This is used in bigger cortical screws. Diameter 2.4 – 2.7 – 3.5 mm
Locking screw to be used with locking plates. This option is preferable when a stronger stabilization of the tibial crest is needed.
A locking screw locked into the plate. The screw head does not protrude from the plate surface.
